The war for our minds and our souls - IMPORTANT
These words represent a significant burden that the
LORD has placed on my spirit over the past 3 days, often with a great deal
of heaviness and discomfort. There is a very intense war going on today
in the spiritual realm for all of our souls. A very important first step
for all of us to be prepared and armed for this war is to seriously
understand its reality and to not simply dismiss it. With these words,
would like to share with all of my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ
some things that the LORD has given me that I think are essential to our
survival during these days.
First, let me say that I believe completely in the
accuracy and infallibility of God’s word. I don’t think He ever says
anything to us where He is just kidding, not really serious, or
exaggerating. His written word is the pure truth that sanctifies us (John
17:17). It is so vitally important that each of us use God’s word as our
compass that points true north at His truth. At the same time, the bible
says that these words are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14) and
that the natural mind can not understand them. That is why, in order to
really seriously know the truth, we must always couple prayer with our
study of the word. I know that many of you are thinking “yeah, I already
now this.” But brothers and sisters, today especially it is more
important than ever that we all be doing this and not just saying it.
Keeping on the whole armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18,
especially the last piece – prayer.
It’s very personal - The reason why this is so
vitally important today during this war is that this knowledge of truth is
something that we must each come into for ourselves. We can not simply
rely on anyone to tell us what it is. Don’t rely on anyone, not even me
and the words that I say to you, not our pastors, not our mentors, not
those famous church leaders we see on TV. At the end of the day, we
should all be like the Bereans (Acts:17:11) and take the words that we
hear and search the scriptures for ourselves to see if these things are
Test the spirits – These things are vitally
important because the bible says clearly that we should not believe
everything that we hear. Not every spirit is the spirit of truth from
God. 1 John 4 says that many false prophets are here in the world today
and shows how we should test the spirits (much like the Bereans did to
verify what they were hearing). If the spirits do not confess Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh, we are told that it is that spirit of the
antichrist. This is a very crafty and subtle spirit and has been around
since the garden in Genesis 3. It’s the same spirit that tempted Jesus in
Matthew 4 and Luke 4. A spirit that said in Genesis 3 “hath God said” and
then shortly thereafter said “you shall not surely die.” This is the same
spirit that is at work today… he knows the scriptures very well and is
still very skillful at subtly twisting them to deceive God’s people. It
worked in Genesis 3 but did not work in Mark and Luke 4. The reason is
that Jesus showed us how to use His word to not be deceived. We all need
to be growing everyday in our ability to use the word like Jesus did to
discern the spirits that are all around us.
Command to study the scripture - In 2 Timothy 2:15
says that we must all study the scriptures to show ourselves approved and
so that we can rightly divide the word of truth. In our hunger and quest
to study and gain knowledge of the LORD, we are often tempted to rely too
much on what other people say. How do we get knowledge with confidence
that it is from the spirit of truth and not a deception from the enemy?
In Isaiah 28:9-13, the LORD tells us through His prophet:
9Whom shall he teach knowledge?
and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from
the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10For precept must be upon
precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a
little, and there a little:
11For with stammering lips
and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12To whom he said, This is
the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the
refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13But the word of the LORD
was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon
line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might
go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
This passage contains a very important aspect of why
the systematic study of the scripture is so important. In both cases (in
Genesis 3 and again in Matthew & Luke 4), the enemy took parts of the word
out of context and twisted them to make it look like it was what God was
saying. The way that God tells us to defend ourselves against this is by:
This is how we truly get to know God personally for
ourselves. With this knowledge and understanding of the true original and
a vibrant prayer life talking to the source of truth, it is not then
possible for the enemy to beguile us with his subtle deceptions.
I said earlier that I believe that every word that
God spoke to us through scripture is true and that He never says anything
that He doesn’t really mean. One of those things that He said and
reminded me of in the past 3 days is that there WILL be a falling away.
This is a part of the experience that was very heavy and painful for me.
He showed me this in His word from 1 Timothy 4:1
1Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
He also showed me that in the end, there will indeed
be many, many who will reject Him outright or who will not take heed to
His words and will allow themselves to be deceived into making a poor
choice. The scene that He described in Revelation 14:20 of blood up to
the horse’s bridles will indeed come to pass. It gives Him and every
saint no pleasure, but it is indeed a fact and it will happen. That is
why these words are so vitally important today and why the LORD has had me
laboring over them these past 3 days.
As I prayed this morning and came off of my period
of fasting, He told me to be bold with my words and to not worry about
offending. These words and this effort to write this down this morning
has indeed been a labor of love for me. I desire nothing from any of you
but that you take heed. See for yourself.

May God guide and protect you today. Be blessed
